UNIX/Linux System Administration I: Essentials

Cover the bases and mechanisms of UNIX system administration. Starting with the key concepts, system administration duties, system organization, system configuration and system startup, the course moves on to file-system architecture, device and system configuration, and process management. Exercises covering these aspects of system administration are an integral part of the course. Although the course covers general system administration, prepare to discuss variations among operating systems.

Prerequisites: A general understanding of UNIX operating system externals and command interfaces and access to a UNIX or Linux system
