The Certificate Program in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management presents a strong instructional foundation for launching and successfully operating a small business venture. The curriculum spans all stages of small business development, from defining an idea to finding and managing your finances to building marketing strategies and managing your operation. This professional certificate's capstone course teaches you how to finalize your business plan and practice the next steps to executing and managing a successful business. The curriculum is overseen by an advisory board of business entrepreneurs and education leaders and approved by the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business. If you are an aspiring entrepreneur or small business owner, this certificate gives you the tools to better understand the business and market forces and entrepreneurial theories and practices that can help your venture prosper. Learn from instructors who are seasoned entrepreneurs, and share the energy of entrepreneurial thinking with classmates who are as inspired as you are. Completing the certificate sets you on the path to successfully launch or grow your own business.
There are no prerequisites for the Certificate Program in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, but a bachelor's degree is recommended.
The curriculum comprises 5 required courses and a minimum of 1 elective for a total of 10 semester units (156 hours of instruction). Candidates must pay a nonrefundable certificate registration fee.
All coursework must be completed within three years of registering for the certificate. However, requirements may be updated based on new developments in the field of study; we recommend completing the curriculum in a timely fashion. To register for the Certificate Program in Entrepreneurship and Small Business Management, submit the online registration form with your credit card information or complete the mail-in registration form. The registration fee is nonrefundable.
You should register for the certificate before you complete your second course in the curriculum.
Each course is priced individually, and you pay the course fee at the time of enrollment. The certificate has an estimated cost of $4,420 (not including course materials or registration fee). Course fees are subject to change.
