Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies (EDP 402222)
The Certificate Program in Alcohol and Drug Abuse Studies has been developed by UC Berkeley Extension in association with the UC Berkeley School of Public Health. The curriculum is based on a developmental sequence of study designed to challenge your current beliefs about the problem of drug and alcohol abuse, increase your knowledge, and augment your skill. Specialized Programs of Study

UC Berkeley Extension's specialized programs of study offer focused subject concentrations that enable students to develop and hone a skill set within a specific area or discipline. Each specialized program of study typically comprises 3 or more coordinated courses exploring a targeted subject area, generally totaling 30–90 hours of coursework. Many specialized programs of study carry Continuing Education Units (CEU) or other professional licensure credits.

Family-Based Treatment for Eating Disorders (EDP 408427)

Find out how the Maudsley Approach—a family-based treatment—uses techniques to support parents in helping restore weight and disrupt disordered eating behaviors in their adolescent children.

The continuing education (CE) credit for each course, if available, is listed after the course title in the online and print catalogs. We use the following abbreviations:

BRN, Board of Registered Nursing (Provider 00226);

LCSW/MFT, courses that meet the qualifications for CE credit for LCSWs and MFTs as required by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (PCE 1505);

CAADAC, California Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (provider X4C-99-416-0803), continuing education for Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselors;

CE credits for psychologists: UC Berkeley Extension is approved by the American Psychological Association (APA) to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. UC Berkeley Extension maintains responsibility for this program and its content.
