Management and Business Track

A Commitment to Learning

Optional Practical Training | Timeline

Acquire business skills in half the time of an M.B.A. program and maximize your time and potential with the 12-month Management and Business Track (MBT). The MBT combines academic study, intensive training, and on-the-job work experience.

Begin an 8-month course of study, starting with the Business Administration or Global Business Management IDP program. Then, continue with a concentration in Finance, Marketing, or Project Management. Depending on your choice of programs, the second-term concentration program may offer some of the same courses as the first term. It will not be necessary to repeat the course or take an alternate course to complete the MBT program.

Once you complete the 8-month intensive study, apply your in-depth training in your internship as the final portion of the Management and Business Track.

Complete this year-long academic program and you may also be eligible for up to one year of Optional Practical Training (OPT). OPT offers students with F-1 visa status the opportunity to gain paid work experience in their fields of study in the United States. Although certain regulations and restrictions govern OPT, it can be a great way to gain valuable work experience while learning more about how U.S. businesses operate.

To continue your concentration study or the Internship Program, you must maintain an overall GPA (grade point average) of 2.5 or higher, and you must earn a C or higher in all of your courses.

Optional Practical Training

Optional Practical Training (OPT) offers F-1 students the opportunity to gain paid work experience in their fields of study in the United States. A student who has successfully completed a full academic year and who meets other eligibility requirements may be allowed to accept paid employment for up to one year. While OPT participation has regulations and restrictions, OPT can be a great way to gain valuable work experience while learning first hand about the U.S. style of business.
