Peachpit Press, a Berkeley-based division of Pearson Education, and UC Berkeley Extension are pleased to offer the second annual Marjorie Baer Scholarship for Editorial Excellence. The scholarship was established in honor of Marjorie Baer, a former senior executive editor at Peachpit Press, in recognition of her extraordinary contributions to the publishing community and her boundless passion for mentoring editors and authors alike.

The 2010 Marjorie Baer Scholarship for Editorial Excellence covers the full cost of UC Berkeley Extension's highly respected Professional Sequence in Editing program, the only one of its kind in the Bay Area. The scholarship includes the candidacy fee and enrollment fees for the four courses in the editing program. The cost of textbooks and other supplies are not included.

Students beginning the program between January and June 2010 are eligible for the scholarship. If you have already begun the program you may apply for the scholarship, however, courses and fees paid before spring term 2010 will not be reimbursed. Students must finish the Professional Sequence within three years of enrolling in their first course. Students may take classes online or onsite.

Two winners were notified by mail during the first week of March, 2009.
