Winners for 2009
For the past sixteen years Carter has worked for Bay Area nonprofits and foundations that serve low-income families. She has developed and directed innovative programs in adult literacy, child welfare, and violence prevention. She has also authored and edited articles for The Future of Children, a policy journal.
After graduating with a B.A. in French Literature and an M.A. in International Business from the University of Florida, Mulroney taught high school for several years. One summer, while working in France as a tutor, she met her future husband. Together, they set off on a year-long adventure, working aboard mega-yachts while traveling all over the world. Now living in Miami with her two-year-old boy, she looks forward to focusing her attention on a new career in editing. |
