UC Berkeley offers a two-day optional Cal Student Orientation (CalSO) session for students enrolled in the Fall Program for Freshmen (FPF). Students only attend one session.
During CalSO, students hear about student life and services such as housing and financial aid, meet FPF program staff, and gain insights and tips from former FPF and current Cal students.
A CalSO program for parents runs concurrently and addresses issues and concerns of interest to parents of new FPF undergraduates.
The FPF CalSO session has limited space. Although we recommend students and parents participate, CalSO is optional. There are several CalSO sessions; you may only attend the sessions scheduled for UC Extension Fall Program for Freshmen students.
You can sign up for CalSO once you have submitted your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to Cal. Contact the CalSO office for more information on CalSO.
Note: Please identify yourself as a UC Berkeley Extension FPF student when contacting CalSO.
