Choose Courses
Use this guide to help you stay organized while choosing your fall courses. FPF students choose their fall courses manually using the Course Selection Form. In November, you will use UC Berkeley's Tele-BEARS system to enroll in your spring courses.
FPF Academic Checklist
- Confirm your enrollment in FPF by checking the myBerkeleyApp checklist. (You should have already sent in your Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) to UC Berkeley for spring admission, and submitted your FPF Reservation Form.)
- Read about Academic Requirements and decide how many units and courses to take.
- Print out the FPF Course Selection Form and Course Selection worksheet.
- Indicate your Reading & Composition (R&C) course preferences and tell us which exams you are taking and if you are using college coursework for R&C.
- Choose a Math or Statistics course based on your math diagnostic test and other criteria.
- Choose one or more Breadth courses based on your interests. Make sure to select four alternates.
- Double-check the Course Schedule for scheduling conflicts among selected courses. Remember Berkeley time; courses begin ten minutes after the scheduled starting time.
- Mail or fax your Course Selection Form (CSF) to FPF by June 1. The mailing information is printed on the form. Courses fill on a first come, first served basis. You may confirm receipt of your CSF on myBerkeleyApp.
- Send us a copy of all of your exam scores and any college-level transcripts to confirm placement in an R&C course and finalize your fall schedule.
- Get your fall schedule.
- Buy your books.
