Student Housing
Fall Program for Freshmen (FPF) students are eligible to apply for University Housing. If you apply and are not initially offered Cal housing, it is best to remain on their waiting list. Although Cal Housing vacancies often open up at the last minute, we urge you also to gather information on private Cal student-only dorms. Every fall, FPF students find appropriate housing either on or near campus.

Residence Halls—Theme Programs
Live in a special residential community co-sponsored by an academic department and the Office of Student Development. Students enjoy the opportunities of a large university while benefiting from being part of a smaller and closer-knit residential community of students who share a common academic interest. Note: Theme Programs require you to take an additional 1 to 3-unit seminar; you must register for Concurrent Enrollment with the FPF office to properly enroll in this course.

Other Housing Options
Many FPF students choose to live in co-ops or privately-owned student dorms, which are very similar to, and in the same neighborhoods, as Cal dorms. Some even have meal plans and social activities for students.
