Concurrent Enrollment
Take Classes at Cal
Concurrent enrollment lets you take fully accredited college courses on a space-available basis at UC Berkeley without going through an extensive admissions process.
- Fulfill a course requirement in a specific subject area
- Satisfy prerequisites for graduate school
- Earn additional units to complete a degree
How It Works
1. Find a course on the Cal campus.
2. Get approval from the instructor. Contact the instructor for the class in which you would like to enroll to ensure you have satisfied any prerequisites, confirm that the class will meet your needs, and discover whether there is space available in the class.
3. Check with the department to see if there is an additional departmentally administered application process. (Some departments, such as Physics and Chemistry, have such additional processes.)
4. If you meet any required prerequisites, create a Concurrent Enrollment account and pay the application and course fees.
5. Be sure to attend the first class meeting if possible.
