Program Description

IDP certificates are accelerated business-training programs with intense study completed in a condensed time frame.

IAEP offers tailored instruction in university-level English to develop skills in reading, speaking, listening and academic writing for further study at U.S. universities.

FSBE introduces university students and recent graduates to business and entrepreneurship concepts and practices in one or two semesters, with an additional internship option.

Evening Certificate Programs comprise in-depth business, art and design certificates that offer comprehensive understanding of a topic, paired with a flexible schedule.

Length of Study

4-Month IDP certificates:

Each 4-Month IDP can be paired with an internship and/or an additional IDP.

2-Month IDP in Management and Leadership (summer term only)

8-Month Program: IDP + Internship

12-Month Program: Management and Business Track (MBT)
Two 4-Month IDP certificates plus an internship

Minimum three-session commitment; each IAEP session is four weeks long.

Students can enroll in as few as three consecutive sessions or as many as nine sessions within one year. Length of program is tailored to each student's learning goals.

Class Schedule/pace

Full-time, weekday schedule

Full-time course load with classes held weekday mornings. Afternoons are free for conversation practice or optional fee-based enrichment classes.

Classes meet in the UC Berkeley Extension Golden Bear Center in downtown Berkeley.

Academic AND EXPERIENCE Prerequisites

A bachelor's degree and at least two years of work experience are required for all programs.

Students must be at least 18 years old to attend.

Students must have completed at least three years of university study or recently graduated. No work experience is required.
