Project Management for Biopharmaceuticals

UC Berkeley Extension's six-course professional program teaches biopharmaceutical-specific project management processes and offers exposure to the latest professional trends in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and diagnostics industries. The program uses your existing skills and experience to advance or shift your career in the booming field of biopharmaceutical project management.

Project Management Institute®

All of our project management courses apply toward professional development units (pdu) through the Project Management Institute (PMI provider #1173).

UC Berkeley Extension is a recognized provider registered with the Project Management Institute Registered Educational Provider Program (PMI R.E.P.). UC Berkeley Extension accepts and adheres to all PMI R.E.P. program policies, requirements, and rules concerning the provision of professional education activities and materials.

About the Program

The professional sequence can be completed in two semesters. It consists of six two-day courses that may be taken in any order. Class meetings may include lectures, discussions, exercises, case studies, problem sets, and student projects.

Who Should Attend

Experienced project managers and scientific employees who want to become project managers.

Program Requirements

To earn a certificate of completion, students must complete all required courses with a Pass OR must earn a C or better in all courses taken for a grade.

Recommended Experience OR Coursework

Before starting the program students should have experience in BOTH the drug development process and project planning and control OR complete the following courses:

Bioscience Essentials for Industry Professionals (3.4 ceu)
The Drug Development Process (2.8 ceu)
X470 Project Management (2 semester units in Business Administration)*

Mail or fax it as it indicates, and include the nonrefundable registration fee. Professional sequence registration cannot be taken by phone.

Requirements may be updated based on new developments in the field of study; we recommend completing the program in a timely fashion.
