New NIH Training Grant Requirements

Effective with all new and renewal applications submitted on or after January 25, 2010, NIH requires a minimum of 8 hours of classroom-based training in the Responsible Conduct of Research for all individuals supported by NIH funds.

You must complete this training before your grant review deadline to ensure continued funding. Online training alone is not acceptable to NIH. Learn more about the new NIH requirements.

Free Training for Eligible Grant Holders

UC Berkeley Extension and the UC Berkeley Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research are offering FREE training, on campus, for eligible applicants. See sidebar at right for eligible grants.

Priority enrollment will be granted to eligible grant holders with the earliest review dates. All others will be placed on a wait list until one week before the training start date. Applicants will then be notified of any available seats.
