Curriculum and Completion Requirements

The curriculum consists of 2 required courses and 4 electives for a minimum of 8 semester units (120 hours of instruction). Candidates must pay a nonrefundable program registration fee.

All courses must be taken for a letter grade. A grade point average of 2.5 is required in order to earn an Award of Completion, and each course must be completed with a grade of C or better. All coursework must be completed within two years of registering for the program.

Once you have completed the program coursework, notify UC Berkeley Extension that you have completed the curriculum and request your Award of Completion. Send an email to designarts@unex.berkeley.edu or call (415) 284-1041. After your records have been reviewed, verified and approved, your award will be sent to you in the mail. The review of your records is usually completed within six to eight weeks after you request your award.
