Berkeley Global
This course prepares construction professionals to manage field operations effectively and lead project execution at the jobsite level. Emphasis is placed on daily work planning, subcontractor coordination, safety and quality management, schedule and cost control from the field perspective, and digital documentation practices. Participants develop the leadership skills and operational judgment necessary to align field performance with project schedules, budgets, contracts, and stakeholder expectations.
Prerequisites: Completion of CIV ENG X400 Introduction to Management in the Construction Industry or equivalent industry experience.
Learner Outcomes
On successful completion, participants will be able to:
- Manage daily field operations, including work planning, trade coordination, and site logistics aligned with project schedules.
- Lead and supervise field teams effectively, conducting coordination and safety meetings and translating plans into actionable work.
- Implement safety, quality, and compliance controls to meet regulatory and project requirements.
- Monitor field-based schedule, cost, and change impacts, providing accurate documentation and progress reporting.
- Use digital field management tools to document work, communicate effectively, and support risk and claims avoidance.
