Charting, Documentation and Billing for SUDs in a Post-ACA World

There is an increasing need for counselors who have the ability to document and accurately bill for services rendered. Learn how to effectively document client services and bill for Medi-Cal reimbursement. You review an update on the recently approved California Waiver that was approved by the federal government in August 2015. This historic legislation contains new information that can help you better prepare yourself a career in the addictions field.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of this workshop, you:

  1. Gain an understanding of creating treatment plans based on a Medi-Cal assessment
  2. Learn to link group notes to treatment plans
  3. Learn to link treatment and discharge planning and clearly summarize a client’s journey through treatment
  4. Learn the use of appropriate language for successful documentation and billing
  5. Gain an overview of the underpinnings of the historic California Waiver and what they need to know for their future in the field
