The days of joining one company and rising steadily through the ranks are gone. The career landscape has grown increasingly competitive and sophisticated technologies have disrupted traditional approaches to career building and job hunting. Whether you work in IT, business, digital marketing or a lab, the game has changed. To be successful in this intensely connected new world, you need to take a proactive approach to managing your career.
In this presentation, we’ll talk with career strategist and Linkedin HR partner Nathan Tanner about the lessons he’s learned in developing his own career. He’ll address tips for applying the tools and strategies that he sees as critical to launching and growing a meaningful career today, including:
- How to build professional relationships
- How to develop a competitive advantage
- How to adapt in an ever-changing workplace
Join us for an evening discussion and gain inspiration as well as insight for building your own career strategy.
Nathan Tanner focuses on hiring, motivating and retaining top talent as an HR professional at LinkedIn. After being laid off from a Wall Street job during the financial crisis, Tanner was forced to pivot his career. With tenacity and hard won insight, he bounced back, ultimately starting a new career path in HR. He is the author of the career strategy book, Not Your Parents' Workplace (CreateSpace, 2015), and has written for Forbes, Inc., Mashable and The Muse.
