Learner Outcomes
By the end of the course, you should be able to:
- Screen and evaluate anxiety disorders in children and adolescents
- Assess anxiety symptoms and severity and behavioral avoidance in children and adolescents
- Understand the theory that underpins cognitive-behavioral treatment of anxiety disorders in children and adolescents
- Display knowledge of the outcome research that supports cognitive-behavioral treatment strategy
- Understand self-control procedures useful in the management of anxiety in children and adolescents
- Display knowledge of contingency management procedures to improve compliance with treatment in session and at home
- Construct an exposure hierarchy, and motivate children and adolescents to undertake direct and imagined exposures
- Identify the two methods of monitoring treatment progress
- Identify the two most commonly used exposure strategies in treating anxiety in children and adolescents
- Identify two common self-control strategies for managing anxiety in children and adolescents
