Get an overview of some of the most important aspects of geriatric neuropsychology and geropsychology. This workshop exceeds the relicensure requirement for a course in the biological, psychological and social aspects of aging and long-term care.
Learner Outcomes
By the end of the course, you will have learned:
- Normative and pathological neuropsychological changes (including biological, psychological and social changes) seen in aging
- Neuropsychological and psychological assessment procedures, instruments and interventions in long-term care and geriatrics
- The role of the neuropsychologist and geropsychology in long-term care
- The relationship of neuropsychological evaluation to issues related to competency and capacity for decision making
- Constraints and guidelines imposed by the current health care system
