Get an introduction to the basic techniques to self-auditing and third-party auditing with the objective to investigate the degree to which environmental programs and activities are in compliance and to determine appropriate measures to correct deficiencies. In this multimedia environmental auditing course, you study enforcement and penalties, as well as common compliance findings in air quality, water quality, hazardous waste, hazardous materials and other environmental programs. At the conclusion of this course, you gain a basic understanding of audit approaches and techniques as well as the environmental rules and work practices that are scrutinized during an environmental audit. The skills to evaluate environmental compliance vulnerability at the operating plant are particularly useful with the increased emphasis on multimedia inspections and enforcement in California.
