For Agents

Welcome to UC Berkeley Extension

UC Berkeley Extension welcomes collaborative relationships with professional educational advisers and institutions around the world. We thank you for your support in facilitating these life-changing experiences for international students!

By working in partnership with UC Berkeley Extension, you’re sending your students to a highly respected institution devoted to education access and high-quality curriculum. Established in 1891 as the continuing education branch of UC Berkeley, we offer access to UC Berkeley and Extension courses for domestic and international students—without the complicated admissions process. UC Berkeley Extension—like all other UC Berkeley schools, colleges and departments—is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) through the university.

Here on our international representative portal, you'll find information and tools for your work with our International Programs. What Is a Certificate?

UC Berkeley Extension International Diploma Programs and Evening Certificate Programs award professional certificates, not degrees. An academic advisory board oversees and approves each certificate’s curriculum.

A certificate is a credential that combines academic theory with practical knowledge, making it directly applicable to a professional career. Certificates provides concentrated study in less time and at less cost than a traditional degree program.

Online Student Applications

The student application varies for each program. Most applications involve the following steps:

  • Creating a student profile
  • Completing an online application
  • Paying the application fee
  • Mailing documents to UC Berkeley Extension

Student Program Fee Payments

Fees for all International Programs are due 30 days before the first day of class. UC Berkeley Extension does not accept direct payment from agents or third parties. Students must pay program fees directly to UC Berkeley Extension in U.S. dollars. In addition, the entire payment must be made with no commissions withheld. Four payment options are available. Read more about student payments.

Don't Forget

Student Visas: Students who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the United States must obtain an F-1 visa to attend UC Berkeley Extension’s full-time programs. Learn more about our visa requirements for international students.
