How to Apply

Complete the online application. Within the application, you will indicate your intent to apply for the scholarship. As part of the scholarship application, you will need to submit the following items.

Résumé or Curriculum Vitae (CV)

As part of your application, you will upload your most recent résumé or curriculum vitae (CV). This document should provide a clear overview of your academic background, work experience, skills, achievements, and any relevant extracurricular or volunteer activities. This document will be used to help the scholarship committee better understand your academic and professional experience. Double-check that the file you upload is complete and legible before submitting your application.

Personal Insight Questions

You will also need to provide responses to two personal insight questions. Each answer must be no more than 200 words.

  1. Which one of the four Berkeley Haas Defining Leadership Principles do you want to work on while in the BHGAP program and why?
  2. Tell us about a time when you received constructive feedback that significantly changed the outcome of a project or goal. What was the feedback and how did you implement it?

Professional or Academic Recommendation

In addition to completing the application form, you will need to provide the contact information for one colleague (such as a supervisor, manager or recent instructor) who can speak to your academic or professional capabilities. You will provide the name and email of your recommender in your application. The recommender will receive instructions and a link to provide brief responses (maximum of 200 words) to each of the following questions:

  • In your experience, how has the applicant demonstrated exceptional academic or professional merit? Please share an example where the applicant displayed competence, initiative, creativity or problem-solving skills.
  • How would you describe the applicant's ability to overcome a challenge? Please share specific examples.
  • Optional: Is there anything else about this applicant that you'd like the scholarship committee to consider?
