The Professional Program in Leadership in Sustainability and Environmental Management offers you a structured selection of courses that covers topics on sustainability leadership and change management, environmental law and policy, compliance management systems and climate change risk-mitigation strategies. In addition to learning how sustainability practices can be implemented in cost-effective ways in public and private sectors, you acquire practical knowledge and a set of management tools based on sustainability leadership principles. You may enroll in individual courses without registering for the Professional Program in Leadership in Sustainability and Environmental Management.
This program is ideal if you aspire to advance or change your career to become a sustainability director, environmental manager, environmental program manager, compliance manager, environmental researcher, environmental policy maker, planner, environmental consultant or green advocate. Upon successful completion of the program, expect to be proficient in the language of the industry and be able to understand, research, analyze and articulate the industry's viewpoints in a professional manner. You are also prepared to develop expertise and responsibility within the context of sustainability.
There are no formal prerequisites for the Professional Program in Leadership in Sustainability and Environmental Management, but a bachelor's degree is recommended.
The program consists of 4 required courses and 1 elective for a total of 8 semester units (120 hours of instruction). Candidates must pay a nonrefundable program registration fee.
All coursework must be completed within five years of registering for the program. However, requirements may be updated based on new developments in the field of study; we recommend completing the curriculum in a timely fashion. By registering, you declare your intention to complete the curriculum. To register for the Professional Program in Leadership in Sustainability and Environmental Management, submit the online registration form with your credit card information or complete the mail-in registration form. The registration fee is nonrefundable.
Each course is priced individually, and you pay the course fee at the time of enrollment. The program has an estimated cost of $3,500 (not including course materials or registration fee). Course fees are subject to change.
Environmental Law and Regulation X440 offers Minimum Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) credits for attorneys. Course will be offered in a future term.
