Personal Financial Planning and Wealth Management

Personal financial planning and wealth management are professions expected to grow as more people seek professional guidance in shaping their financial lives. UC Berkeley Extension's courses cover the fundamental areas included in preparing a comprehensive financial plan—from estate and tax planning to investments, insurance, philanthropy and more. The courses are designed to help you prepare to take the Certified Financial Planner® (CFP) exam and thrive in this dynamic field.

UC Berkeley Extension is closely affiliated with industry-leading firms and associations that participate in special events for these programs, including an annual career night panel discussion and networking events. Classes are regularly offered in multiple locations throughout the Bay Area, including convenient locations in Berkeley and San Francisco.

Events, Programs and Resources

The Professional Sequence in Personal Financial Planning provides students with two evening events sponsored by the program's advisory board: Career Night and Awards Dinner. The advisory board also raises funds for a scholarship program for students in the program. In partnership with the Financial Planning Association (FPA) of San Francisco and of the East Bay, the program offers internship opportunities for students.
