The {{ program.name }} is excited to announce scholarship opportunities, of up to {{ program.scholarshipAmt | currency:$:0 }} each, to be applied toward the Fall 2026 visiting student program cost of {{ program.cost | currency:$:0 }} per semester.
You must apply to the program and the scholarship at the same time. No exceptions.
Eligibility
Note: Students who are financially sponsored by their university are not eligible to apply for a scholarship.
- Current third- or fourth-year undergraduates or recent graduates / graduate students
- 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA) in your undergraduate or graduate studies
How to Apply
Complete the online application. Within the application, you will indicate your intent to apply for the scholarship. As part of the scholarship application, you will need to submit the following items.
Résumé or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
As part of your application, you will upload your most recent résumé or curriculum vitae (CV). This document should provide a clear overview of your academic background, work experience, skills, achievements, and any relevant extracurricular or volunteer activities. This document will be used to help the scholarship committee better understand your academic and professional experience. Double-check that the file you upload is complete and legible before submitting your application.
Personal Insight Questions
You will also need to provide responses to two personal insight questions. Each answer must be no more than 200 words.
- If you could use your major to solve one pressing global or local challenge, what would it be? How will your time at UC Berkeley improve your ability to address this challenge?
- Describe one recent accomplishment you are most proud of. How has this achievement influenced your academic or professional aspirations?
Professional or Academic Recommendation
In addition to completing the application form, you will need to provide the contact information for one colleague (such as a supervisor, manager or recent instructor) who can speak to your academic or professional capabilities. You will provide the name and email of your recommender in your application. The recommender will receive instructions and a link to provide brief responses (maximum of 200 words) to each of the following questions:
- In your experience, how has the applicant demonstrated exceptional academic or professional merit? Please share an example where the applicant displayed competence, initiative, creativity or problem-solving skills.
- How would you describe the applicant's ability to overcome a challenge? Please share specific examples.
- Optional: Is there anything else about this applicant that you'd like the scholarship committee to consider?
