Detailed instructions for tuition fee payments

Payment of program fees must be made directly by the student. Read the following instructions carefully, and please contact this office if you have any questions regarding these procedures.

The total program fees* must be paid in full 30 DAYS BEFORE THE BEGINNING DATE OF THE SESSION. Students will not be permitted to enroll until the sum is paid in full. Failure to pay by this date may result in the loss of your space in the program, late fee, denial of visa and/or problems with registration and final grades.

Credit Card Payment

You will receive a bill (invoice) by email along with instructions to pay your fees via credit card online through the UC Berkeley Extension website. We accept VISA, MasterCard and American Express.

Check Payment

Checks must be payable in US dollars and drawn on a US bank. We also accept cashier’s checks. The check should be made payable to UC REGENTS and sent to the address below. Please be sure to include the student’s name and the name of the program on the check. Our mailing address is as follows:

Direct Wire Transfer (Overseas Only)

Students will not be enrolled in the program until the wire transfer is successfully tracked and identified. In order for us to track the payment by wire, it is mandatory that you email a copy of the confirmation receipt to extension-intl@berkeley.edu, or fax a copy to +1(510) 643-0216. The process is not automated and may take 10 to 15 working days. All fees charged by the bank are the sender’s responsibility. No wire transfers will be accepted once the term has commenced. For timely processing, please remember that if you choose this option, the following information must also be included in the email or fax transmission of the wire transfer confirmation:

Earning Commission

Depending on your geographic region, UC Berkeley Extension may offer opportunities to earn commission. If you have a representative agreement with UC Berkeley Extension, any terms and conditions are detailed in the agreement.

If granted, UC Berkeley Extension pays referral compensation by wire transfer after the student is fully enrolled, has paid the fees and is present in class. Processing payment takes four to six weeks after materials are received and verified. For questions on commission, please contact
