Congratulations on completing your application!
The full application review process can take three to four weeks. Only complete applications with all required information are reviewed. Programs may fill before the application deadline, so we recommend submitting all application documents as early as possible.
You will be notified by email regarding your acceptance status and further instructions.
After Acceptance
Once you accept your offer of admission, you will receive information about setting up your Berkeley accounts, paying fees, enrolling in classes and applying for your visa documents. Please contact us if you have questions.
Prepare to Arrive
Once you have been accepted, it's time to prepare for your arrival! Go to our Preparing for your Arrival page to learn more about your next steps.
Understanding and Paying Your Program and Course Fees
The timing and methods of payment available varies according to your specific program structure—whether you are billed a program flat fee, a partial program fee and/or per-unit course fees. Please consult your program or department.
- Program Fees: Once you have been admitted into your program, you will receive instructions on how to pay your program fees, which are due at least 30 days before the program start date (if not earlier). Failure to pay your fees before the stated deadline will result in the automatic cancellation of your admission.
- Other Student Fees: Depending on your program, other student fees may be charged, including the International Service fee, the Registration fee, the UC Berkeley Extension Health Insurance fees, etc. These fees are nonrefundable after the start of the term. Read more about these policies and deadlines.
- UC Berkeley Extension Courses: Course fees are due at the time of enrollment.
- Concurrent Enrollment Courses: Students who are not in a flat-fee program will also need to pay tuition/course fees. When you enroll, you will be billed for course fees for every course or unit, as well as lab fees (if applicable). These fees are due approximately one week after the drop deadline. Read more about these policies and deadlines.
Payment Options
You will pay all of your fees (except the $100 application fee) via CalCentral in the "My Finances" tab. Payment options include:
- Online payments via e-check or credit card. (A 2.75% nonrefundable convenience fee applies to credit card payments.)
- International Payments via Flywire or Convera. (Direct Wire student payments are not accepted.)
- Concurrent Enrollment is not eligible for the Fee Payment plan.
View more details about payment options, including step-by-step instructions.
Concurrent students may be eligible for private student loans. Students who choose to use loans for concurrent enrollment fees should complete the loan application process six to eight weeks prior to the payment deadlines.
Student Cancellation and Withdrawal Policy
Students who are unable to continue with UC Berkeley Extension's Global programs must submit the Term Cancelation/Withdrawal Request form in CalCentral on or before the cancellation deadline to avoid any charges. The form is located on your My Academics tab and under the Concurrent Enrollment card. Depending on the specific program, there may be different deadlines for program fees and tuition course fees.
- A refund of program fees is granted for cancellations received prior to the program fee final deadline (approximately one month before the start of the term). Exceptions will be granted if your student visa application is denied.
- For Concurrent Enrollment programs that are billed on a per-unit basis, course fees will not be refunded after the drop deadline.
- UC Berkeley Extension courses follow all add, drop and withdrawal policies.
Failure to make payment in no way excludes a student from financial liability.
Note: Specific programs that charge additional fees may have different refund policies. Please inquire with your program or department. Students are responsible for inquiring with their program and following all program policies.
Program Cancellation by UC Berkeley Extension
If UC Berkeley Extension expects to cancel a program, students will be notified at least 30 days before the scheduled start date and offered alternative study arrangements, if available. A full refund will be granted if an alternate study arrangement is not selected. UC Berkeley Extension will not be held liable for student expenses related to airfare, lodging and related admission-application expenses. UC Berkeley Extension reserves the right to cancel or postpone a program when enrollment does not meet the minimum program requirements.
Policy Exceptions
Please refer to UC Berkeley Extension's Policy Exceptions.
