- How do I enroll?
- Add the course(s) you want to your shopping cart and check out. Further instructions will be emailed to you. If you're a new student, you will need to create a student profile. If you already have a profile, log in with your student ID number and password. You can email extension@berkeley.edu for assistance with registration.
- Can I start with just one course?
- Yes, you can take a single course. You do not need to enroll in an entire certificate, program or sequence.
- What are the differences between the three online formats?
-
- Start anytime classes allow for the most flexibility in your schedule. Once you enroll, you start the class; there's no need to wait for a specific start date. After you enroll, you progress through the course at your own pace.
- Fixed-date courses have a set start and end date—in the same way as a classroom course. There are no live sessions, but plenty of opportunities to collaborate with your classmates and instructor.
-
Live Online classes have the same set up as the fixed-date format, such as specific start and end dates, but adds classroom-style interactive learning through scheduled online sessions (Pacific Time).
Beginning August 15, 2020, you must have a Zoom account to participate in Live Online classes.
- How do I schedule a proctored exam?
- Due to current conditions, in-person proctoring is not advisable at this time. We have developed alternative means for course completion for all online courses, such as online exams and final papers. Please contact your instructor for more information.
- We recommend you identify your proctor after you enroll in the course and no later than midway through the course to ensure that you are able to meet your course completion date. Get more information on proctored exams.
- Can I transfer credits to another school?
- Other institutions may accept UC Berkeley Extension credit toward an undergraduate degree, but acceptance is always determined by the institution to which you are applying. Get more information on transferring credits.
