Learn about each of the four skill-measuring domains of the test, evaluate and develop personal strategies for success, understand the constructs and limits of what the test is measuring, and practice authentic simulations of each portion of the test. Throughout the course, you build a more effective vocabulary and metalinguistic knowledge of academic English. You also have opportunities and tools to develop your skills in the context of the examination. Because productive language acquisition as distinct from language knowledge is arguably a socially constructed process, and your long-term goals are matriculation at an English-language institution, instruction is directed toward language socialization as part of a community of practice.
