If you are completely new to, have some professional experience or have a particular interest in AI and/or data, we encourage you to take AI for Management BUS ADM X459.8 or Data Visualization COMPSCI X465.1 as your elective. These courses do not require any prerequisites or technical abilities, though prior experience working with data is beneficial.
Or take both courses for a greater focus! Emerging leaders who understand AI and data visualization gain the ability to make smarter, data-driven decisions that drive organizational innovation. These courses equip you with the tools to interpret complex data, communicate insights clearly and lead teams confidently in an AI-powered workplace.
You may be eligible to substitute one of these courses for a required course or to add an additional (optional) elective. There are no prerequisites or admission requirements for the Professional Program in Leadership and Management, but a bachelor's degree is recommended.
The curriculum comprises four required courses and one elective (2 units) for a total of 9 semester units (135 hours of instruction). Candidates must pay a nonrefundable program registration fee.
You must take all courses for a letter grade. To receive the award of completion, you must complete each course with a grade of C or better. All coursework must be completed within three years.

We recommend that you register for the Professional Program in Leadership and Management before you begin your second course in the curriculum.
Each course is priced individually, and you pay the course fee at the time of enrollment. The program has an estimated total cost of $5,050 (not including course materials or registration fee). Course fees are subject to change.
Once you have completed the program coursework, notify UC Berkeley Extension that you have completed the curriculum and request your Award of Completion. Send an email to extension-business@berkeley.edu. After your records have been reviewed, verified and approved (usually within two to three weeks), your Award of Completion will be mailed to you.
