Improve your technical writing style and technique while creating writing samples that include a variety of document types for both print and online presentation. Course Objectives
After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:
- Write in the advanced technical writing style in plain language.
- Write collaboratively in the workplace.
- Work with numbers, symbols and mathematics in technical writing.
- Use the fundamental design principles and elements of graphic display.
- Use online data visualization design programs such as Tableau and Lucidchart.
- Conduct online secondary research for gathering industry information, based on current information-science best practices.
- Produce a two-document writing portfolio—industry overview; then either a white paper, formal proposal or report—based on a self-selected course project.
- Demonstrate basic skills in technical editing while gaining a broader understanding of the technical editor’s role in the publication process.
