Berkeley Global
This course focuses on the business aspects of working in educational consulting and helps learners understand keys to success within this rapidly growing profession. You will explore how to manage your career as an educational consultant, identify how you will find clients and manage the marketing and selling side of the business, determine how you will run the business, and determine how you will do the actual work with students seeking college advising.
Learner Outcomes
Individualized assignments make the course relevant whether you intend to create your own business or join an existing educational consulting practice. Under this approach, there are two overall (career) objectives (the 1st and last) three objectives that relate to each of the other course areas (do, run, find) and then the ethics object that has been in all of the courses. After successfully completing this course, you will be able to:
- Identify your own strengths related to serving as an independent educational consultant.
- Describe how you intend to advise students throughout each step of the college admissions process.
- Describe strategies for business marketing and finding clients.
- Identify key considerations in running an educational consulting business.
- Describe specified ethical issues in college admissions advising.
- Identify personal areas for growth and professional development opportunities.
