Course topics include budgeting, staffing, alterations, and building-systems operations. Facilities managers must have a thorough understanding of how a facility and its equipment operate, as well as how to service and maintain the facility to serve its occupants. This course is ideal for individuals interested in entering or advancing in the field of facilities management.

Learner Outcomes
On successful completion, participants will be able to:
- Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of overall operations and maintenance management concepts in the facilities management field.
- Acquire specific knowledge of operations concepts in the ever-changing field of facilities management in relation to buildings, building systems, and other assets of the organization.
- Understand and apply concepts such as Life Cycle, Life-Cycle Costing, Total Costs of Operations, and service excellence through Service Level Agreements (SLA’s).
- Distinguish between such maintenance categories as Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, and how emerging areas such as sustainability and technology are impacting the operations and maintenance areas of Facilities Management.
