This project-based course teaches you how to design moving graphics. You learn the life cycle of producing animated media from concept storyboarding to final video distribution. You learn to creatively animate illustration, photography, vector graphics, video and typography components to express movement and narrative. You also learn about exporting for social media channels used in brand marketing while optimizing your work for online search.
As a designer, freelancer or small business owner seeking to expand your design background, you are adding motion to your graphics skill set. These skills can be helpful to transition to a new job or promotion and market you brand or services with engaging video.
Prerequisites:
Working knowledge of Photoshop and/or Illustrator as you will be required to use these programs for your project(s).

Course Objectives
- Build a portfolio of animated work unified by branding and end usage of a specific client
- Create storyboards and animatics in pre-production
- Apply motion design to vector graphics, typography and video content
- Utilize Rotoscoping animation technique as a guide for character movement
- Understand export settings, social media integration and search optimization of video format in post-production
- Use animation production terminology, and communicate design thinking and creative concepts in verbal and visual form to clients or during workplace meetings
- Familiarize with animation principles and creation of narrative through sequenced action
