Examine the current legal and social issues that impact the employee-employer relationship, and the practical actions in order to address them. Using a contemporary and practical framework for the employee-relations discipline, you take a dynamic investigation of issues across the employee lifecycle. Topics include the role of HR in employee relations, common transactions within the employment relationship including the assessment of risk in employment actions, quality of work life, culture and respect in the workplace, diversity and inclusion, and handling formal complaints and discipline.

Kortney Riddle, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, has more than 10 years of experience in global human resources, organizational development, safety and health. Her career focus has always been helping business leaders navigate complex HR issues using a well-rounded, employee-centered approach that allows teams and organizations to thrive in constantly changing and increasingly challenging environments. Riddle is currently the director of human resources for a medical malpractice insurance firm in Oakland, Calif., and has held various positions across HR centers of excellence throughout her career.
