Jose Ramirez-Latorre

JOSE A. RAMIREZ-LATORRE.  Recipient of a European Community Fellowship and awards from the Limback Foundation, Howard Hughes Institute and NIH, Jose received his Ph.D. from UC Berkeley in Biophysics and a B.S. in Physics at Universidad de Los Andes in Bogota, Colombia.   He worked as a postdoctoral fellow at Columbia University,  faculty member at Temple University and City University of New York, and adjunct faculty at Columbia University. As a full professor at Universidad del Rosario School of Medicine in Bogota, Colombia he was the founding director of the Neuroscience Laboratory.  Research interests include: Stimulation of Sensory input in treatment of Parkinson's disease. Use of computational models of the basal ganglia in movement control and the development of the dopaminergic system.

Amin Jazaeri, Ph.D., joined the Department of Physics at UC Berkeley as the director of instructional support in 2013. Prior to joining the department, he was an assistant professor with the School of Physics, Astronomy and Computational Sciences (SPACS) at George Mason University in Fairfax, Va., where he taught both undergraduate and graduate courses.

Gurpreet Kaur, B.Ed., M.Sc., M.Phil, Ph.D. is a lecturer at UC Berkeley. She earned her doctorate in Atomic and Radiation Physics and had a chance to use INDUS-2, RRCAT, synchrotron facility for her research experiments. She also teaches at Skyline College. Previously, she taught at Thapar University, JSS Institute of Engineering and Technology. She teaches various undergraduate and graduate level courses and is a nature lover.
